Trenchless Gas Piping Sacramento

When your ADU or outdoor kitchen project requires a new gas line or you’re dealing with an old, leaking gas pipe that has rotted out under the ground, the best repair option may be a trenchless directional drill.

Trenchless gas-line replacement requires minimal excavation. We dig in only two locations, where the pipe is fed and at the termination point, such as an ADU.

trenchless gas piping process

We can drill up to 200 feet of gas pipe at a time.

Because we use a directional drill unit, we can make corners around the back of a home or building and maneuver around large trees or swimming pools to get to the desired location. Once the drilling is complete, we attach a new gas pipe along with a tracer wire to the end of the drill head and pull them through the drilled hole. As certified installers, we use HDPE (high-density polyethylene) gas pipe and fusion weld all of the connections, transitions, and terminations to ensure a seamless underground pipe.

The drilling technique is ideal if you’re looking to maintain the integrity of your property without costly and extensive concrete patches or a landscaping overhaul.

Trenchless Water Main Sacramento

Water main replacements can be a messy and costly endeavor when they involve excavating a large trench across the property.

As an alternative, we offer a clean, fast, and affordable option: the trenchless method. We use two techniques, depending on the type and length of your water main. For a short, straight water main that runs from the meter or wellhead to the house, we can use the trenchless bursting method. Using the existing pipe as a guide, we pull a new HDPE pipe with a high-strength cable.

Long trenchless water main

For longer pipe runs, larger pipes, or when there is no existing line to replace, we can use the directional drill method.

We excavate at the meter and the house or any other desired location for water supply. We drill across the property to the desired area and then use the drill head to pull the new HDPE pipe and a 10-gauge tracer wire in place. Fusion welding all connections, transitions, and terminations ensures that there are no underground failure points or possibility of corrosion over time.

Trenchless Sewer Sacramento

Before moving forward with a trenchless sewer line replacement, we always perform a sewer video inspection.

We look for a few key factors that indicate the line is a good candidate for the trenchless method: good grade and no bellies. We then excavate at both ends of the line and expose the existing sewer line connections. This minimizes damage to the property by limiting the amount of excavation to both hardscape and landscape.

Our trenchless sewer Process

Trenchless sewer line replacements utilize the bursting method.

We feed a large steel cable through the old sewer line. The end of the steel cable is fitted with a bursting head. Using a fusion welding machine, we create one continuously welded SR11 sewer line, which we then connect to the bursting head. We mount a hydraulic press at the end of the old sewer line and pull the new line from there. Once we have the new line in place, we plumb it into the existing system. Depending on your county and its specific permitting requirements, we then perform either a sewer video inspection or a pressure test of the sewer system to ensure a successful installation.
